Our Stock
Diamond grades of our stock items are G/H colour and VS2/SI1 clarity unless otherwise stated (see the "4C's" Diamond Chart). Sizing of stock rings is included within the price and takes approximately 5 working days, unless there is a large finger-size difference when we may need to make a new ring. This may incur a further charge depending on market prices. The photographs on this website are a true representation of the colour; however there may be a subtle difference when seen.
Making a purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our Catalogue, and click on any items that you wish to buy and click make secure order. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Visa Delta & JCB. If you are shopping from the UK, or North America or anywhere else, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to British Pounds, US Dollars or your own currency. We also except personal cheques via post.
You will not be charged for an item until it is ready to ship. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, post or over the Internet. We also take orders by telephone if this is more convenient than a personal visit or e-mail.
Shipping And Handling
For orders under £250 there will be an automatic handling charge of £10 to cover postage, packing and insurance. All orders over £250 will not be charged a delivery fee. Quotations will be given for postage by insured mail overseas and for larger items sent by special delivery within Great Britain. Presents may be gift wrapped at no extra charge.
Delivery Schedule
All orders will be sent out within 48 hours if we have the items in stock. If an item you have ordered is out of stock your credit card will not be debited while we contact you to inform you of the expected delivery date.
Back Orders
If an item you order is not in stock, we will back order for you where possible. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would prefer not to wait.
Tax Charges
All prices quoted are inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT) where appropriate and at the applicable rate. For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 17.5% VAT is included in the price of all new goods. For all other locations you should click the exempt button to reduce VAT to zero where this applies to new goods.
Credit Card Security
All credit card numbers are encrypted on the customers PC when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption JAVA applet. They are only decrypted and manualy processed after they reach Payne & Sons secure computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site. No card processing is carried out online. We at Payne & Son believe this is the most secure way of protecting our customers, and processing payment. The following Banks have approved their customers use of this type of encription: Barclays Bank, HSBC and Royal Bank of Scotland.
Privacy Policy
Payne & Son (Goldsmiths) Limited do not disclose buyers' information to third parties. Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item, to store delivery addresses, if the address book is used and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' Option.Data collected by this site is used to:
a. Take and fulfil customer orders
b. Administer and enhance the site and service
c. Only disclose information to third-parties for goods delivery purposes
Returns Policy
We have every confidence that you will be completely satisfied with our products. However, if you are not satisfied with any products you buy for any reason, please return them in the condition you received them to us within 14 days for an exchange. Please note that when sending a return, the parcel is your responsibility until it reaches us. We therefore suggest that any returns are sent via a delivery method that offers insurance to the value of the item being returned. Remember to enclose your name, address, telephone number with your parcel when returning goods. The return postage will not be refunded.
